I've tried to update the bulk of the site to produce more standards compliant, modern HTML. I'm struggling mightily with CSS2, however. The fact that you have such limited control over the vertical spacing of inline elements bothers me.

The main index demonstrates this problem rather dramatically. I'd rather not use a table for the list of entries but I can't seem to get consistent behavior using css techniques.

If any of you have problems viewing the site now please let me know. Be sure and specify which browser, browser version, and platform you are using.

In other news, the generation of the index page now uses the same mechanism as all the others. It won't make any difference to you all as users but it makes it much easier for me to maintain.

The next project is to clean up the comments and links.
