Clark and I were having a discussion earlier today and wandered on to the topic of media saturation. Media saturation in this context is, as it sounds, the idea that one can be exposed to so much media that one is no longer capable of absorbing it's message or, perhaps, no longer wishes to.

This seems like a truly remarkable idea to me. I suppose that is what the term "information age" really means.

I don't know if you have ever experienced it but I often feel as if sitting in front of another monitor, watching another television ad, or reading another headline would truly make me crazy. It is so bad, at times, that I don't even want to read books. I have a feeling that it's a phenomenon that we will begin to see a lot more of.

I suppose that it's more than a little ironic that I would choose to contribute to this problem with this very page. Ah well. I guess that's how I protect myself, in a way. I can turn around and dump some of this incredible amount of input right back out before it overwhelms me (melodrama).

Neat. I have actually received a few responses to my cultural literacy question. I am starting to organize them and will eventually post them here.

"Grabasses bad!"

You must see this. I about died.

Today's musical recommendation is "The Chess Box" by Muddy Waters. This is some wonderful stuff.
