Whew! I think my brain may be starting to work again. Sometime here in the recent past it just shut down and refused to come back on line. It's a great relief to be back in action... even if only in this marginal capacity.
...
So, a couple of things.
1) Every woman I know is beautiful... all the men too. For a minute lets discard the things that really matter, the inner beauty, and talk about physical attractiveness. In this case, when I say that everyone I know is beautiful that is what I am talking about. Sure, we all have off-days when we don't look our best but even that can't take away peoples' inherent beauty. So, that said, why must the media force these airbrushed, photoshopped, cookie-cutter models down our throats continually? It seems to me, in my blanket of middle-class naivete, that REAL beauty could sell products just as well. I mean really... I don't think anyone believes in their heart of hearts that any product marketed by these freaks of nature is going to help them achieve a similar level of freakishness. Does continuing to make us feel ugly as a people make us better consumers. I suppose it must. I challenge the media and marketers, and this is a real challenge, to find a way to market to us with real people and real value. Where are your morals? As importantly, where is your creativity? C'mon. Do your race (the human race) a favor for once. Money is NOT god. If you've gotta sell your soul at least get something tangible out of the deal.
</soapbox>
2) I got so wound up in my first paragraph that I have forgotten what the second thing I wanted to blather about was. Stay tuned. I'll remember it in a few moments.
Love,
