Jared's brain. 09.14.00

Read about Jared's love hate relationship with Sony's Everquest :P

This is just an early update. I have some more things I want to say (go figure) but they should prolly wait until after work

Some random stuff:

Perl is yummy. Fear it's illegibility.

Is Chicago. Is not Chicago?

WTF happened to family dinner. I'm no raging traditionalist (I hope) but I gotta say, I miss family dinner. Something very nice about actually sitting around a table and talking and eating.

I heard an interesting thing on NPR yesterday. I don't know which program it was, who was hosting, or what it was about... There was just one line that really made me think: "...the effect of the landscape on the American psyche...". Man. Another potent illustration of the power of words when the fall on the right ears. I never really thought about it but there is something about the right landscape that can reach inside and make me feel something... something strong. I don't know how representative of the "American psyche" I am but, hey, it works for me

Some other random stuff

I found another very interesting band. If you are in to electronica I recommend you check out Mr. Oizo. Very heavy synth stuff. Sounds great. It may even be analog synth. Better ears than mine will have to decide that.

Does anyone know of any really good music? I'll listen to anything my only criteria is that it must be good. I don't mean good like you think Britney Spears' newest tune has a great beat. I mean good in a lasting and meaningful sense. Something that will be around 20 years from now and people will still say it's good. You got anything like that, Donut Lady? ;) If so, mail me. I beg you.

I have another request. I'm turning in to a pushy old fart, I know. Anyone know anything about meditation? Anyone had any really good experiences with it. I'd like to know more. Shoot me a mail if you would. I'll be eternally grateful.

Ok. I promise, no more bands whose names start with Mr. :P

Ummm... ok... it's a gratuitous section. So what?

"My mama told me son, always be a good boy, don't ever play with guns, but I shot a man in Reno, just to watch him die"

As always, if this sparks you or you want to share something with me, please do so.
