Sorry for the infrequent updates. Lots going on.

First things, first: I'm buying a house. I can't really convey how excited I am without resorting to making strange noises or quivering. Our new house is sooo cool. It is a 1930 bungalow (Bungalo? Looks weird both ways). It is about 1200 sqft and has a sunroom. Some time in the recent past the electrical and hvac were completely redone. The neighborhood is nice and I've already met a few of the neighbors. We close April 16 if all goes well.

Email me if you need the new address.

Obviously, I've been fairly busy dealing with housebuying tasks and preparing to move but I have had time for a few other things.

For starters, I finally played through Neverwinter Nights. My ten second review is that it's obviously a great tool for people that want to play dungeons and dragons online but, as a single-player computer game, it left a lot to be desired. I enjoyed it for the most part, but it definitely had it's share of irritations. Props to bioware for releasing a game that runs natively in linux. I'm working on Shadows of Undrentide now. We'll see if it's any better.

Last night I checked out Lineage II: The Chaotic Chronicles, courtesy of ++helixx. I don't even know where to start when describing this game. It's so bizarre. First of all, everything in the game is attractive: the women, the men, the world, the monsters. It's like being inside a soap-opera... if only soap-operas were set in dorky fantasy environments. Women playing the game are just screwed, period. You're going to look incredibly hot but your "armor" wont give you a prayer in hell. (example below). Granted, it's still in beta, but the controls are awkward, it runs like frozen ass, and has truly baffling translation errors. I'm going to stick with it a bit since the last two betas I was in I feel like I gave up on too quickly, but I don't have high hopes. In it's defense, it's NCSoft's first foray in to international markets. Hopefully they can hammer it out.

"armor"

I have to take a minute to plug tokyoplastic. I'm sure most of you have seen drum machine but if you haven't you really must go watch it. Drew Cope is a badass. Apparently drum machine (and, in fact, tokyoplastic) was inspired by Takashi Murakami's Superflat exhibit. Not sure. Anyway, drum machine is probably the single coolest piece of flash work I've ever seen. Remarkable.

Congrats on the house. What part of the city is it located? Does it have room for a little vegetable garden? Think of the fresh herbs and corn in the summertime. Now you're gonna have a good reason to get some real tools to fill up that garage. Have fun!

Did you ever play Morrowind? I played through it on xBox & found it to be a really good single player RPG. The world is giant & it has a great non-linear plot line. I played an old version of Lineage online (they were the only ones with a Mac OSX version at the time) & I thought it was a little boring. The focus seemed to be more on getting armor & talking trash with your friends in the cities. I could never really get into the quests that were available. Now I'm playing Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic. It's slow to start & figure out the combat & level up system, but now that I'm into it, it's really cool.

The Housh-House
I just wanted to put how I feel about the house down...
 YAYAYAYAYAAYAYAYAAY!!!!! WOOOOOOOOT!!!! and other various
 hoopings and hollarings.

It's really cool! Whoever built the house was quite good
with using space well. For example, instead of just having
a wall and nothing about the master bedroom doorway (where
the space would just be wasted), there's a place for blanket
storage! It's really fantastic. I get really excited about
good use of space and this house makes me giddy.

The sunporch is fantastic. I can't wait to sit out there
with a cup of tea in the morning. yay!

And Loop-- Oh, no! to the "Badger badger badger..." at the
bottom of this page. I had just gotten it out of my head
from last night and now it's there again. *sigh* *starts
singing and slightly bouncing up and down* ;) SNNNAAAAAKE!

Peep, I had the weirdest experience this morning. I saw a guy that I thought was you. After some thinking (I'm slow in the mornings) I realized there were a lot of reasons it couldn't be you. Anyway. Randomness. He looked like you did in high school.

oh... and..

To answer your question, it's in the central part of the city, near TU. Close to 4th and Yale, actually.

The Hood
Dude, you'll be in the same square-mile block as Edwards and Haas. Do you know what this means? YOU BE ABLE TO BIKE TO WORK! (and you'll be in the hottest hood T-Town has to offer.) Congrats.
