They're tearing down the bandstand here on the north side of Skelly Stadium in order to build some other type of sports-related facility. On the way back from lunch I stood around for a good ten minutes and watched the wrecking crew work. For whatever reason, I am generally fascinated by demolition, and this is no exception. The bulk of the work today was being done with some sort of excavator (I don't know what they are actually called. It looks like a robot arm on a tank.) It was hypnotic. I had no idea that machines so huge could be so agile.
I wish I had some pictures or a movie. It was definitely a good way to spend a few minutes.
